About Us

First Thursday Dixieland Band began in winter of 2008 when six cool guys found themselves playing Dixieland Jazz to beat the winter blues. Now they hang out on the first Thursday of every month to flex their top-notch-musician muscles, and they want you to come over and revel with them in the happy sounds of Dixieland.

Gene McGowan, Greg Olsen, Jeff Soukup, Murph Monahan, Ken Hoyne, and Dave Napier invite you to First Thursday’s next show on August 7th, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Fawick Park in downtown Sioux Falls on the corner of 10th Street and 2nd Avenue. This show is free and open to the public.

Update: If you didn't make it to Fawick Park last Thursday you missed a fantastic show. The evening was beautiful, and the park proved to be an excellent performance venue. All Sioux Fallsians in attendance (and the band!) had a great time. Sioux Falls Parks and Rec. deserves a special thanks for making the evening possible.

A September show is currently in the works. We'll update the website and alert the fan club the minute we have something scheduled.
